Scotts Valley police announce new K9 team member

Scotts Valley police have announced the newest member of their team, K9 Odin.

Odin is a 17-month-old Sable Shepherd from the Czech Republic. He will be working with Officer Jared Johnson.

Odin and Johnson are in their bonding period, but they will begin training in mid-July. They will be trained in narcotics detection, tracking, handler protection and suspect apprehension.

They are expected to hit the streets in November.
