Kindergartner thanked by Watsonville Police

A kindergartner was recognized at school by Watsonville Police for finding a lost toddler and getting help.

5-year-old Ryan Varela’s class at Linscott Elementary got a visit from police thanking him.

Ryan saw a little girl walking near the school with “no mommy.”

His teacher then got the girl to come on campus. The school let officers know that they found a girl, and she was safe.

Just after she was found, Watsonville Police got a report of a missing 3-year-old.
