Seaside City Council Member Kayla Jones fined for missing campaign disclosure reports

Kayla Jones, a member of the Seaside City Council, is facing thousands of dollars in fines for not submitting a complete campaign disclosure statement.

The statement is Form 460, and it was due July 31 of this year.

City documents say that her statement for July through December 2017 is 236 days late and January to June 2018 is 55 days late. The fine for both is $10 for every day it is late.

In a records release by the city, email correspondence is shown between Jones and City Clerk Lesley Milton. Milton, over a series of months, asks Jones for a copy of her Form 460 for the July to December 2017 period.

A letter was sent to Jones on Monday to say the issue has been referred to the Fair Political Practices Commission’s Enforcement Division.

KION has reached out to council member Jones for comment.

This is a developing story.
