Fatal accident at Monterey Mushrooms Royal Oaks Facility

UPDATE: The man who died at Monterey Mushrooms has been identified as 61-year-old Mark Donald Odle, a resident of Aromas.

A 911 caller reported a tractor front end loader had run over a male employee. When first responders arrived, they confirmed the impact from the tractor caused fatal injuries to Odle.

Cal/OSHA has opened an investigation.

An investigation was already ongoing into the facility as a complaint was filed in May.

A man is dead after an accident at Monterey Mushrooms Royal Oaks Facility.

A 911 call was made around 11:01 a.m. Monday.

The California Highway Patrol told KION a man was working on a machine when he was injured and died from that injury.

Cal-OSHA has been advised and are on their way to the scene.

The California Highway Patrol, fire and Monterey County Sheriff’s are responding.
