Burglary victim finds stolen tools for sale on Craigslist in Santa Cruz County

A Santa Cruz County man was reunited with nearly $5,000 worth of stolen tools.

In late 2017, the victim’s home was broken into in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s, the suspect took thousands of dollars worth of tools, “many of which he had gotten from a friend who had passed away.”

Thursday night, the victim called the Sheriff’s Office after he believed he found his tools for sale on Craigslist. The victim arranged for a meeting with suspect, Jason Wamsher.

Deputies arrested Wamsher for being in possession of the stolen tools.
