Seaside motorcyclist identified in weekend fatal crash

A 55-year-old Seaside man is dead following a crash on Josselyn Canyon Road Sunday evening.

Department of California Highway Patrol said Joseph M. Beverding was traveling at a high rate of speed, which they said was unsafe for the roadway conditions.

A sharp turn caused the 55-year-old to veer off the road, where he collided with a wall and was ejected.

Beverding succumbed to his injuries on scene.

Though no other party was involved, the incident is under investigation.
