Law enforcement agencies graduate more than 40 new officers

More than 40 new officers graduated from the South Bay Regional Academy today.

And many with various departments say they are overcoming quite a bit. The Salinas Police Department is one that has struggled with filling open positions in the past, and they say this graduation is a step in the right direction.

Their Department is using new techniques with social media to recruit officers, something they say is helping them reach a broader audience.

At six, KION’s Ashley Keehn has more about overcoming these struggles, and she speaks with some of the new officers.
