Watsonville police catch burglar in the act at local Goodwill

Watsonville Police were called to a burglary in-progress at the Goodwill Industries on Main Street.

Once officers arrived, they spotted 37-year-old transient, Horacio Lara exiting the building. Sergeant Jarrod Pisturino detained Lara at the Goodwill store.

During the investigation, officers located a second business which had been burglarized on the same 400 block of Main Street. Lara had property in his possession which belonged to Casa Choi Discount store.

The 37-year-old broke the glass on both stores front doors to get inside.

Lara was booked into the county jail on two counts of commercial burglary.
