Gang crime discussion in Salinas

More than 300 law enforcement officers from all over California and parts of Nevada are in Salinas for a two-day conference on how to better tackle crime, according to Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

The officers are taking part in classroom type training to learn the latest in crime trends and tactics at Sherwood Hall.

According to the sheriff’s office, the conference is also a way for officers from different agencies to share ideas on gang prevention.
