New data shows violent crimes among Salinas youth is decreasing
As Salinas continues to struggle with violent crime and gang violence, new data shows youth violent crime rates in Salinas are down.
At a press conference, city, federal and community leaders gathered to hear about the downward trends in youth violent assaults, gang affiliation and more, despite the cities reputation of being a violent town.
A coalition of more than 30 organizations say the decrease in crime has to do with their prevention and intervention methods.
KION’s Maya Holmes is working on the story and will have all the details tonight at 5 and 6.
