UPDATE: Woman hit by car in Pacific Grove succumbs to injuries

UPDATE 2/29/16 4:45 PM: Following the investigation into this accident, the Pacific Grove Police Department said the pedestrian was found at fault for walking against the traffic signal.

The department said the driver of the car cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol was not a factor, and there were no violations on part of the driver, according to Pacific Grove Police.

UPDATE 2/3/16 9:30 AM: The Pacific Grove Police Department reports the woman died from injuries on January 29. The investigation into the deadly crash is still ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY: An investigation is underway, after a woman was hit by a vehicle in Pacific Grove Wednesday night.

Police say it happened just before 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pine and Forest, when a woman in her sixties was struck by a vehicle.

Police say the woman suffered serious injuries and was sent to the hospital The driver is cooperating with police and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
