Santa Cruz police prep for Halloween on a Saturday
Every Halloween, thousands of people crowd downtown Santa Cruz to celebrate. This year, more than 100 Santa Cruz police officers will be patrolling to make sure everyone has a safe holiday.
What’s called a “Safety Enhancement Zone” in the downtown corridor will begin at 12:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30 and continue through 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1.
There will be triple fines for violations that happen in that area.
There will also be a number of road closures and no parking zones.
