Next free Start Smart class scheduled in Aptos for teen drivers

CHP will be offering their next Start Smart class on Tuesday August 4 th from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Aptos High School. The school is located at 100 Mariner Way in Aptos.

The free educational class is to help teenage drivers and their parents understand how poor choices behind the wheel can affect the lives of many people.

Traffic collisions are the leading cause of death for 15 to 20 year olds CHP said. The program is designed to be educational and help reduce the number of teenage injuries and deaths from car crashes.

The Start Smart program also provides teens and parents with information on defensive driving, traffic laws in California, dynamics of traffic collisions, tips on avoiding traffic collisions, and DUI awareness.
