Hollister man killed in Highway 101 crash Sunday morning

California Highway Patrol said a 54-year-old man from Hollister was killed in a crash on Highway 101 just south of Blossom Hill Road in San Jose Sunday morning.

Officers said the driver was traveling northbound on Highway 101 at posted speeds and drifted off the road for an unknown reason. The driver then hit a tree where he later died.

Officers said drugs and alcohol are not a factor in this crash. Two lanes on Highway 101 were closed for about 30 minutes during the investigation.

CHP is asking any witness with information to contact Officer Davies at 408-848-2324.
