32-year-old Gilroy man dies in vehicle vs pedestrian crash, officers say

GILROY, Calif. (KMUV-TV)-Gilroy Police said a 32-year-old man died after a car crashed into him early Sunday morning.

Officers said the crash took place at No Name Uno near St. Louise Regional Hospital around 12:23 a.m.

Investigators said they found the pedestrian lying in the road unresponsive. Police said a nurse who works at the hospital stopped to provide first aid.

The man was pronounced dead shortly after. Police said the underage driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was contacted by officers as part of the investigation.

Gilroy Police said it does not appear the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If you have any information about this accident, you can contact them by calling (408) 846-0330.
