Jury breaks for weekend in Giants fan beating case

A jury charged with determining who’s to blame for a beating at Dodger Stadium that left a San Francisco Giants fan badly brain-damaged has completed deliberations for the day without reaching a verdict.

Friday marked the first full day of deliberations in the lawsuit Bryan Stow’s family brought against the Los Angeles Dodgers and the team’s former owner, Frank McCourt.

Jurors deliberated for about three hours Thursday following closing arguments. They are scheduled to meet again Monday.

Stow’s family is seeking $37.5 million for his lifetime care, plus double that amount for pain and suffering.

The father of two was badly hurt when he was attacked in the stadium parking lot after the 2011 season opener between the two teams. Two men are serving prison sentences for the attack.
