State launches new Save Our Water billboard, social media campaign

The Association of California Water Agencies and the state Department of Water Resources is launching a new media campaign to promote water conservation.

The Save Our Water campaign uses large, outdoor billboards to promote the idea of saving water.

Gov. Jerry Brown has commemorated May as Save Our Water month.

The ‘Californians Don’t Waste’ outdoor media campaign will run through the end of June on billboards throughout the state.

Save Our Water is also hosting the “Californians Don’t Waste Challenge” through social media. The public is being asked to share their tips, videos and pictures related to water conservation on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #saveourwater. Select videos and photos will be shared as part of the organization’s public awareness campaign.
