CHP: Family hit in crosswalk by car in Castroville

CHP officers say a family of four was hit while in a crosswalk Thursday night in Castroville.

It happened around 5:20pm near the Highway 156 overpass and Merritt Street.

Officers say a man and woman and their two kids, one in a stroller, were crossing the street when a car made a right turn out of the 76 gas station and hit the family.

The mother and two kids were taken to the hospital with minor cuts and bruises.

The driver was cooperative, questioned and eventually let go.
