New School Resource Officer Makes Arrest Of Parolee

A Hollister school resource officer, on the job less than a month, arrested a parolee Tuesday before police even arrived on scene.

Police said Officer Bo Leland arrested Tlaloc Zuniga after he attempted to enter his ex-girlfriend’s residence in the 1600 block of Valleyview Road. Officers were on their way, but Leland was there first. Police said Zuniga was in violation of a restraining order. They said Zuniga has a history of being combative and would possibly attempt to run from police.

Since it happened so close to Sunnyslope School, Leland took action. Police said his quick response took Zuniga by surprise and he was arrested with no further incident and taken to San Benito County Jail.

The Hollister School District and the city of Hollister share the cost of providing a new school resource officer.
