Attorneys Deny Plea Deal Scheduled for Sheriff’s Son

A Monterey County judge delayed a hearing for Monterey County Sheriff Scott Miller’s son Tuesday, who was scheduled to be in court to discuss a plea deal, according to court records.

Jacob Miller was arrested June at the garage apartment he rents from his parents.

Court papers said the hearing was supposed to discuss a possible plea deal and a change in his plea, but Miller’s defense denied the claims. His attorneys wouldn’t say why Miller was supposed to be in court Tuesday.

Miller is expected back in court in early December.

Deputies stormed Miller’s apartment in June, following a month-long investigation into the 25-year-old’s drug involvement. Investigators were very discreet when they arrested Jacob Miller, moving their vehicle behind a fence on the property to shield Miller from the news media.

According to the Superior Court of Monterey County, Jacob Scott Miller has been arrested in the past for drug-related cases.

Jacob Miller originally pleaded not-guilty to the drug charges.
