Salinas Man Arrested For Santa Maria Kidnapping

Officers in Santa Maria responded to a report of a kidnapping in Santa Maria Christmas Eve. A woman was kidnapped from her home in the the 200 block of West Newlove just after 5:30 p.m., said police.

Santa Maria officers issued a “Be on the Lookout” warning to area officers, and the suspect’s car was spotted in Arroyo Grande a few h ours later.

Police said that both the victim and the suspect, 41-year-old Daniel Espinoza of Salinas, were in the car.

Espinoza was arrested and the victim was not injured, said police.
