Weekend picks, fun events to check out!
Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s time to get ready for Christmas! Here is a look at some of the fun events happening this weekend.
Holiday Tree Lighting // Cannery Row // Fri
On Friday night, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held on cannery row in Monterey. There will be fun for the whole family with carolers and Santa Claus himself. The Christmas tree will be there to enjoy all the way up till Christmas.
Santa’s Reindeer Round-Up // Downtown Santa Cruz // All Weekend
Next up, let’s go to Santa Cruz to see if we can spot some reindeer. Santa has lost all of his reindeer, and he needs your help to find them! Pick up a map at the kiosk at several participating businesses in downtown Santa Cruz and then visit them all to search for the hidden reindeer. Find them all for a prize. This free event runs from 11am to 6pm in downtown Santa Cruz.
Holiday Parade of Lights // Salinas // Sunday
And finally, head to Salinas on Sunday night for their annual parade of lights. This is a Salinas family tradition. Each year, families bring their chairs and blankets to watch the show. The street will represent the diverse cultures of our community. This free event runs from 6-9pm Sunday, on main st in salinas.
