BIG SUR, Calif. (KION) Officials working on the Dolan Fire announced that a team member has tested positive for COVID-19.

Officials said the person is part of the type 3 Fire Department of New York Incident Management Team, which is scheduled to take command of the fire starting Tuesday.

The firefighter has been placed in quarantine and is waiting for the results of a second test.

Even though the FDNY IMT team will be assuming command of the fire, California Incident Management Team 15 will remain at the site to support the new team while contact tracing is completed.

The teams say the positive test will not affect their efforts to manage and contain the fire.

The Dolan Fire has burned 124,924 acres and is 91% contained.
