SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) Santa Cruz County officials announced that the county will allow expanded personal care services to reopen starting Friday.

Last Friday, the State of California released guidance for expanded personal services and gave counties approval to start reopening them.

Businesses allowed to reopen will include nail salons, estheticians, skin care, cosmetology, electrology, microblading, waxing, body art, tattoo parlors, body piercing shops and massage therapy.

Employees and customers will be required to wear a face covering, practice social distancing, wash hands often, cover coughs or sneezes and stay at home when sick.

San Benito and Monterey County officials said they needed to review guidelines before approving reopenings.
