Santa Cruz boardwalk to host drive-in movies

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk reopens this weekend for shopping, dining

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk announced that it will be hosting drive-in movies on Fridays and Saturdays through Sept. 26.

The boardwalk also announced the movie lineup:

  • Aug. 21 and 22 at 8:30 p.m.- Jumanji (2017)
  • Aug. 28 and 29 at 8:30 p.m.- Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Sept. 4 and 5 at 8 p.m.- Aladdin (2019)
  • Sept. 11 and 12 at 8 p.m.- The Goonies
  • Sept. 18 and 19 at 8 p.m.- 50 First Dates
  • Sept. 25 and 26 at 8 p.m.- Spider Man into the Spiderverse

Tickets cost $25 per vehicle, and they go on sale one hour before the movie starts. There is a 120 car limit.

The boardwalk said drivers need to park in an open space in the River Parking Lot. Every other space will be closed to allow for social distancing. Open hatchbacks and truck beds are allowed, but everyone must stay in the vehicle unless they are using the restroom. Children under the age of 11 must be with an adult when they are outside the vehicle.

Food and drinks will be available to buy, but alcohol is not allowed.
