Monterey Touring Vehicles to host classic car rally

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) Monterey Touring Vehicles said it will be hosting a classic car event for owners of the cars or those who would like to rent one.

The Drive Monterey Road Rally is scheduled for Aug. 13, and due to health guidelines, space will be limited.

The organization said participants check in at Monterey Touring Vehicles 15 minutes ahead of their scheduled time slot to pick up a rally sticker and swag bag. From there, drivers head to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for an experience and photo shoot. After going down Laureles Grade for wine tasting, drivers can take Carmel Valley Road to Light and Shadow Art Studio and Gallery in Carmel for refreshments and art.

Vehicles must be returned to Monterey Touring Vehicles within four hours. After that, participants will be charged by the hour.

Participants can expect a temperature check, mandatory masks and a waiver. Drivers and passengers will need to stay in their vehicles on the track.

The event costs $99 for drivers bringing their own cars or $249 for the event and a rental car. Those who would like to participate can register here.
