A Mix of Clouds with Pockets of Sunshine
We’ll begin the work week on a dry note as high pressure moves in from the west. Plentiful Pacific moisture will spill over the ridge, however, keeping quite a bit of high cloudcover in the forecast. As a result, temperatures will be close to normal and not above as the actual air mass might suggest. The ridge will level off a bit on Tuesday, allowing a weather system to approach from the west-northwest. Some rain is possible as early as late Tuesday, although the bulk of it will be here early on Wednesday. Only light to moderate rain is expected with this weak system. The ridge will then rebuild again for the end of the week—perhaps a bit stronger—which will lead to a warmer day on Thursday. But it also won’t last as the next weather system arrives on Friday. This is one of several lined up which will likely lead to a wet weekend.
AIR QUALITY: Good
Monday: Scattered to broken high clouds, with pockets of sunshine. Seasonable, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Overnight: Partly to mostly cloudy skies. High clouds will become thicker heading into the morning hours. Seasonable lows, with most locations in the 40s, and a few southern valleys dipping in the mid to upper 30s. Areas of patchy fog are possible, as well as some light drizzle.
Tuesday: Scattered high clouds with some showers possible mainly from Monterey Bay northward after dark. Highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Extended: Rain is looking likely especially on the coast and in the north on Wednesday. Well get a break with seasonably warm temps on Thursday before rain chances return Friday. Weather looks to remain active into the early part of next week.
