WEATHER STORY
Rain & wind return tonight at the next storm system bears down on the Monterey Bay Area. Wind and rain will generally increase in intensity until around midnight, then decrease toward down. The peak will be a little later in the south. Rain is expected to be light to moderate most of the time with brief heavy bursts. Winds are not expected to be severe, but could blow some debris around. We’ll dry out tomorrow afternoon and we’ll stay dry through the weekend. Wet & wild weather returns next week.
**WIND ADVISORY**
… in effect until 4AM for the coast and coastal mountains of Monterey & Santa Cruz Counties
- Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
- Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
Overnight: Widespread light to moderate rain with occasional heavier showers overnight, ending from north to south by dawn. Lows in the 40s. Breezy at times.
Thursday: Slowly decreasing clouds with an isolated lingering shower or two. Cool and breezy with highs in the 50s.
Friday: Chilly in the morning, then mostly sunny but still cool. Breezy northerly winds over the hills at times.
Extended: Dry conditions continue into the weekend with slightly warmer afternoons, but Saturday morning is looking downright frosty, even approaching the coast. Clouds will increase on Sunday then rain will return on Monday and Tuesday which could be heavy at times. We’ll likely see some strong winds during this period as well.
