Rain Returns Friday Night
Air Quality Report (As of 7:00PM)
All reporting stations are good to moderate.
The weather pattern will remain active into next week. The next weather system will arrive on Friday evening bringing clouds and light rain to the region. Another weather system will arrive mid-week next week, bringing more of the same. In the meantime, forecast temperatures will begin a little cool through Saturday, then head back above normal into early next week.
Overnight: Mostly clear with patchy low clouds/fog possible along the coast and in valley bottoms. Expect lows in the 40s on the coast and 30s to low 40s inland.
Friday: Mostly sunny with a few high clouds through mid-day. Then, increasing clouds on the coast throughout the afternoon. Expect high temperatures in the upper 50s to mid-60s on the coast and upper 50s to upper 60s inland. A cold front will bring light rain to the region starting around sunset in Santa Cruz County, then after dark for other coastal and near-coastal areas. Most inland areas, especially in the south will see little to no rainfall. Where it does rain, amounts will likely be light—with up to 0.25” in the wettest locations of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Saturday: Overcast and perhaps a bit drizzly overnight, with clouds breaking by dawn. Then, expect mostly sunny skies during the afternoon with high temperatures in the upper 50s to mid-60s on the coast and upper 50s to upper 60s inland. Breezy for inland valleys in the afternoon.
Extended: Light offshore breezes will kick in over the hills Sunday, ushering in a warmer air mass to the region. Highs will push above normal Sunday through Wednesday under mostly sunny skies. By Wednesday, however, rain is possible again as a weather system slides through.
