Coolin’ It Down For Mom

High pressure shifts east Saturday with all areas experiencing a cool down. Low clouds will be more of a fixture on the coast and while inland areas will still be sunny and warm, it won’t be hot. The cooling trend will reach all areas on Mother’s Day with seasonable to slightly cool temperatures. A weather system will then roll through early next week and likely bring some light rain to the region.

Overnight: Low clouds and fog thicken around the coast, spreading into nearby valleys. Expect lows in the low 50s on the coast and 40s to low 50s inland.

Sunday: Scattered low coastal clouds mainly in the morning and evening with passing high clouds. Seasonable to slightly cool with coastal highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s and mainly 70s to around 80ºF inland. Becoming breezy on the exposed coast and in the inland valleys late.

Extended: A weather system will move through on Monday bringing light rain to the region. Showers may linger into Tuesday. Temperatures should be more seasonable and likely a bit cooler than normal inland. Expect seasonable weather for the remainder of next week under partly cloudy skies.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for May 16th-22nd calls for the likelihood of BELOW normal temperatures and ABOVE normal precipitation.
