Chilly Friday Morning, Nicer Weather on the Way this Weekend
As we head into the weekend calmer, dryer, and warmer conditions settle in and will stick around through the majority of next week. A nice break from the active weather as a weak ridge of high pressure slowly builds. Though we’ll see more sunshine across the Central Coast on Friday, highs will remain seasonably cool. The air will still have a little bite to it with gusty northwesterly winds. Heading into the weekend temperatures will gradually start to warm back to normal, then eventually slightly above normal mid-week. Clouds return early next week with a weak disturbance to our northwest, however dry weather will persist.
AIR QUALITY: Good
Friday: Mostly sunny with a few high clouds. Low clouds will devlope over the hills during the afternoon. Highs will remain seasonably cool in the low to upper 50s. Northwest winds will be breezy, gusty at times.
Overnight: Mostly clear, with a few clouds. Chilly lows in the upper 30s to low 40s near the coast. Low to mid 30s inland with sheltered valleys dipping into the 20s. Patchy fog and areas of frost by dawn.
**FROST ADVISORY**
… in effect from 10PM Friday to 9AM Saturday for interior Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Clara Counties. Some locations include Eastern Santa Clara Hills, Southern Salinas Valley, Arroyo Seco, San Antonio Valley, Santa Lucia Mountains and Mountains of San Benito.
* Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.
* Remember to protect people, pets, and plants from the cold. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
Saturday: After a chilly start once again, temps will gradually warm up with highs a few degrees warmer in the upper 50s to low 60s. Dry with plenty of sunshine.
Extended: Don't let your guard down and keep that rain gear handy. Active weather returns late next week, and that storm door will remain open as we start to close out Febuary.
