Sunny Skies for the Holiday
More afternoon sun and comfortable temps for the holiday. A weak system will sweep through in the northern part of the state so our temps will stay on the cooler side with breezy onshore winds during the afternoon. Inland areas will stay below seasonal high temperatures except for far southern communities in the Salinas valley and in the Pinnacles, and we’ll continue to see comfy temps on the coast for the afternoon through Labor Day. Please be safe while swimming or playing at the beach and while grilling or cooking outside to prevent any hazards. Safety first! Temps will start to warm up Tuesday and for most of next week.
AIR QUALITY: Good
Labor Day: Expect more of the same. AM coastal clouds then sunshine and sunny inland with pleasant daytime highs in the mid to upper 60s coastal and 70s to mid 80s mainly elsewhere. Temps will near 100 degrees in far south of the Salinas valley and in the Pinnacles.
Extended: As everyone heads back to work and school, temps will warm up with sunshine and quiet weather. Tuesday will be warmer across the Central Coast and continue to heat up for much of the week. Peak heat will be Wednesday through Thursday with a moderate heat risk possible inland as we see more triple digit heat.
