Slightly Unsettled

A late spring storm system will linger off to our north through Thursday. With its main energy at a distance, only weak disturbances will rotate through our area—one tonight and one on Thursday. The mostly likely scenario is a few sprinkles, but a light rain showers will be possible. High pressure will then nudge in from the south Friday/Saturday, bringing dryer, warmer weather. The next storm system will then push through on Sunday bringing more rain with showers lingering into Monday. After a cool start to the week, temperatures will warm up close to normal by Wednesday.

Overnight: Partly to mostly cloudy early with scattered sprinkles/drizzle possible. Then, low clouds/fog developing in valleys and hugging coastal hills will clearing elsewhere. Expect lows in the upper 40s to low 50s on the coast and mainly 40s inland.

Thursday: Becoming mostly sunny by late morning, then increasing clouds late in the day. Some drizzle/sprinkles possible late, especially on the coast and in the coastal mountains. Breezy at times. Highs mainly in the 60s on the coast and 70s inland.

Friday: Mostly sunny and warmer with coastal highs in the 60s to around 70ºF and 70s to low 80s inland. Breezy at times.

Extended: Seasonable, pleasant conditions will last into Saturday, though clouds will be on the increase. Rain is looking likely on Sunday, though it should remain light. Showers likely to linger on Monday before skies start to clear out.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for May 21st-27th calls for the likelihood of ABOVE normal temperatures and near normal precipitation.
