Mild days, chilly nights ahead
Mostly dry weather with seasonable temperatures will continue into next week.
On Saturday, a weak weather system dissipated over the Central Coast as it tracked inland. Only a few locations in the Santa Cruz mountains recorded any measurable precipitation, generally just a few hundredths of an inch.
Several weak weather systems will move through California during the next week, but none are expected to produce significant rainfall amounts, and rain will generally be confined to northern California.
The systems will usher in cooler air. Overnight lows will be chilly, especially in higher elevations and in coastal valleys.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, but cooler and breezy with highs mainly in the mid to upper 50s.
Sunday night: Mostly clear. Lows in the 40s near the coast, with mid and upper 30s in the coastal hills and valleys.
Extended: Cool afternoons and chilly mornings early next week all under mostly clear skies. A weak weather system will pass by on Wednesday with the possibility of some light rain. Another similar system will slide by on Friday with better rain chances next weekend.
The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for January 11th – 17th calls
