A Rainy Sunday ahead
Rain will return to the Central Coast late Saturday night into Sunday. Strong gusty winds will develop ahead of the front.
On Monterey Bay, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday for southerly winds 20-25 kt, with gusts to 35 kt and seas 8-11 feet at 15 seconds.
A Gale Warning will be in effect from 9 p.m. Saturday evening to 6 a.m. Sunday for south winds 25-35 kt with gusts to 40 kt and seas 7-12 feet at 14 seconds.
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday for parts of San Benito County, the Santa Lucia Range, and interior Monterey County, for gusts to 50 mph.
Saturday night: Cloudy with rain after midnight. Increasing southerly winds 10-20 mph, with gusts of 20-30 mph in the higher terrain. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday for parts of San Benito County, the Santa Lucia Range, and interior Monterey County, for gusts to 50 mph.
Sunday: Rain with gusty southerly winds early, then becoming mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Southerly winds switch to the west in the afternoon before dying down. Highs in the 50s.
Extended: Highs will be in the 40s-50s for most of next week. Pop-up rain showers will be possible in the south on Monday. The next system will bring light rain on Christmas Eve, followed by another system with the potential for more moderate rain on Christmas Day. Snow levels will drop down to 3k-4kft Wednesday. Some warming expected later in the week.
