Typical Summer Days
SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – An area of low pressure will move over us and get stuck for a couple of days, keeping the marine layer deep but somewhat unstable. This will lead to partial afternoon clearing and seasonably cool temperatures. Some moisture will stream around the low which will lead to showers/thunderstorms to our north. At this time, it doesn’t appear as if it will affect our area, but we’ll monitor it.
Air Quality: Good
Overnight: Low clouds fill the coast and nearby valleys with patchy fog and drizzle. Lows in the upper 40s to low 50s for most areas.
Monday: Mostly cloudy early, then becoming mostly sunny inland and partly cloudy on the coast. Highs in the 60s to around 70ºF on the coast and 70s to 90s inland with up valley winds in the afternoon.
Tuesday: Morning low clouds with patchy fog, becoming mostly sunny inland and partly cloudy on the coast. Coastal highs in the 60s to around 70ºF with 70s-90s inland. Up valley winds late in the day. Perhaps a few mid to high clouds in the north.
Extended: Coastal areas will warm a degree or so day by day through the end of week reaching normal levels by Thursday. Inland areas will hover just above seasonal normals. The weather pattern becomes unstuck late in the week and a passing trough will stir up the winds a bit, but otherwise, a typical summer forecast of morning low clouds with afternoon sun.
