Bit O’Gloom
SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – Cooler, cloudier coastal weather will continue for the next few days with a stable, moist marine layer. Inland areas will continue to warm, however, with areas farthest from the coast on the hot side. Troughing over the West Coast will slowly fade as high pressure nudges in from the west through mid-week. We’ll get some compression of the marine layer which will likely result in increased fog chances on the coast.
Air Quality: Good
Overnight: Low clouds for the coast and inland valleys with patchy fog & drizzle. High clouds drift through overhead. Expect coastal lows in the low 40s with upper 40s to low 50s inland.
Tuesday: Coastal clouds stick around again with cooler, below normal temperatures—mainly in the 60s. Inland areas clear out with mostly sunny, few high clouds passing through, and seasonable conditions ranging from the 70s to around 91ºF. Breezy on the coast then windy up valleys.
Wednesday: Low clouds linger on the coast with only partial clearing. Just a touch warmer on the coast with highs in the 60s to around 70ºF and warmer inland with mid-70s to mid-90s. Breezy on the coast in the afternoon then windy up valleys.
Extended: We’ll see a bit more clearing on the coast through the end of the week, though there will continue to be clouds at times. Temps warm slightly on the coast—back to normal—and remain above normal inland.
