Dry, Dry, Dry
Dry, dry, dry: both the air and the rain forecast. Expect warm afternoons and cold mornings as we head into the work week. Occasional offshore winds will blow, especially in the hills, but locally, fire danger remains relatively low.
Air Quality: Good
Sunday: Sunny skies. Light offshore winds early switch onshore during the afternoon. Seasonable with highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s.
Overnight: Mostly clear and chilly with coastal lows in the 30s to low 40s and mid-20s to mid-30s inland. Breezy down-valley and offshore winds toward dawn. Patchy frost for lower elevation inland cities.
**FROST ADVISORY**
…for inland areas of Monterey County, all of San Benito County, and the Santa Clara Valley & Diablo Range in Santa Clara County in effect from 1AM Monday until 9AM Monday.
*Temperatures as low as 32 will result in frost formation.
*Cold conditions will be hazardous to sensitive populations such as unhoused individuals. Cold conditions can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
Be sure to turn off sprinklers ahead of sub-freezing temperatures to avoid creating ice patches on driveways and sidewalks.
Extended: Dry weather will continue into the foreseeable future as high pressure continues to play storm blocker. It will move around a bit and that will impact our temperatures. An inside slider will cut off over Southern California early next week, likely enhancing offshore flow, but also bringing a cooler air mass. Highs will remain at or above normal, but as the air will remain dry, lows may get quite cold—frosty cold.
*Note: Any alerts from the National Weather Service in Monterey will be noted in italics above. Alerts may be edited for brevity or local clarification
