More Sunshine, Staying Dry

The Red Flag Warning has been canceled for the Central Coast, but conditions will remain dry with fire weather concerns. High pressure will bring another sunny, mild day today. Southern California wildfires may bring some light smoke to the area today so don’t be surprised to see some haze. A dry air mass will remain in place for the next few days, so fire danger will remain elevated, but we won’t have any major wind issues to deal with. Expect seasonable temperatures before the weather becomes more active starting this weekend.

AIR QUALITY: Good to Moderate

Today: Sunny and dry. Seasonable to slightly warm with coastal highs in the mid-60s to mid-70s and low to mid-70s for inland valleys. Breezy onshore up-valley winds late in the day.

Overnight: Mainly clear with lows 40s to low 50s coastal and 30s to 40s inland.

Friday: Sunny for most of the day with a few clouds near the coast late. Slightly cooler on the coast with highs in the 60s to low 70s, but continued seasonable temps inland with low to mid 70s for highs. Breezy onshore up-valley winds late in the day.

Extended: Clouds will increase on Saturday as a weather system passes by to our north. There may be a slight chance of drizzle, but at this time, rains are expected to stay out of our area. We’ll see brief warming on Sunday before a more direct system brings us rain on Monday/Veterans Day. Right now, rain is looking more likely late in the day and could be light to moderate. This system should have increased winds as well. Beyond Monday, the storm track looks to remain active with additional system(s) possible mid to late week.
