Windy Wednesday

A passing weather system will bring gusty winds to the region on Wednesday. Northwest winds 20-30 mph could gust up to 40-50 mph in exposed areas and in the valleys. Some minor vegetation damage is possible and I expect areas of blowing dust as well. The associated front will move through late Wednesday night and may make for an enhanced drizzle chance on northwest-facing slopes, but precipitation is otherwise not expected. The passing trough will be out of our area by late week, leaving us in light northwest flow which should make for fairly seasonable weather—perhaps a little cool for inland areas.

**Gale Warning**..Monterey Bay and Coastal Waters from Point Pinos to Point Piedras
Blancas California out to 10 nm.

...Northwest winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt expected.

* WHEN.., til 9 PM
PDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions
