Cooling Trend

Temperatures cool down for the weekend as the big monsoonal high that brought the heat moves farther away from our area. Troughing on the West Coast will reinforce the cooling trend bringing a cooler air mass aloft and a deeper marine layer. As the marine layer deepens during the weekend, we may see some drizzle/light rain during early morning hours at coastal areas. You may want to grab that jacket if headed to the beach.

AIR QUALITY: Good to Moderate

Overnight: Cloudy on the coast and mostly cloudy for inland valleys. Patchy drizzle around the bay. Fog in the hills. Lows in the 50s for the coast and inland valleys with a few 40s in clear, higher valleys.

Saturday: Partly to mostly cloudy on the coast with highs in the 60s and mostly sunny inland with highs ranging from the 70s to 90s. Windy up valleys late in the day.

Sunday: Expect more of the same with some lingering clouds at the coast after am drizzle/fog. Some sunshine peeking through at coast and sunny elsewhere with temps staying on the cooler side. Highs coast in the 60s and 70s and 80s inland.

Extended: Temperatures remain cooler with coastal clouds this weekend. Then, high pressure slowly rebuilds next week, sending temps back upward. We’ll likely see another gulp of monsoon moisture bringing at least some mid to high level clouds starting Tuesday.
