Cool & Unsettled
An upper level low will cut off over the Great Basin through the end
of the week, continuing to influence our weather with cool, dry air wrapping
around from the north. Beyond that, our area will remain in “no man’s land”
between the stronger flow to our north, cut off lows to the south and high
pressure to the west. This will likely keep the weather fair and seasonable. A
Pacific storm has the potential to bring rain to the region mid-week next week.
***RED FLAG WARNING***The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning through 7AM
Thursday for the Diablo Range in Santa Clara County above 1,000ft.
Expect north to northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 45mph. Local
gusts at isolated peaks and ridge tops may approach and possibly exceed 60 mph.
Wednesday afternoon relative humidity values dropping to 10 to 20 percent
with localized single digits. Poor recoveries are forecast on Wednesday night
with relative humidity values in the 30 to 45 percent range with localized
values below 25 percent.
Overnight: Patchy low clouds with some fog possible.
Cooler, with lows in the 40s on the coast and 30s-40s inland.
Thursday: Partly cloudy and occasionally breezy.
Occasional low clouds near the coast and some mid to high level clouds passing
through. Highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s.
Friday: Partly cloudy and a bit
warmer. Expect coastal highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s and mostly 60s to
around 70ºF inland.
Extended: We’ll be dry this weekend with seasonable
temperatures, then a cool-down next week. Rain chances looking more and more
likely by mid-week.
The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for November 28th -
December 4th calls for the likelihood of near normal temperatures and
ABOVE normal precipitation.
