MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Two people were injured in an overnight shooting at a church in Chualar, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators said the victims were attending a gathering at the St. Theodore's Catholic Pastoral Center in the town when shots were fired around 1 a.m.
Deputies said they received multiple calls from the Grant and Scott Street area at that time saying two people were shot.
Both victims are expected to be okay, according to the sheriff's office.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office announced November 8 that they arrested 25-year-old Jesus Julian Rios and 26-year-old Regino Mendoza Arce, both men from Salinas, for their involvement in the shooting.
After a number of days at large, the sheriff's office were able to locate and arrest the suspects.
"It is my hope that our Chualar community can rest easy knowing these individuals are off the street," said Monterey County Sheriff Tina Nieto.
