King City’s City Manager Steve Adams retires

KING CITY, Calif. (KION) - The City of King City Manager has announced his retirement after 10 years.

Adams has served as city manager for a decade and has held administrative positions in various cities for 43 years.

“Thank you so much to the City Council, staff, and community for your tremendous support and partnership in our efforts to improve the quality of life in the community during the time I have worked here – it has been a great team effort,” said Adams.

Adam's retirement plans will be effective at the end of the calendar year.

The City Council will select a new city manager at the May 27 meeting and will consider the process of recruiting applicants.

Adams will continue at his position until the new appointment is on board (to be projected in early January 2026), as he remains committed to a smooth transition.
