Police looking for two women who allegedly stole a gold necklace from a woman at a Costco parking lot

SALIANS, Calif. (KION-TV)- Salinas Police are looking for two women who are accused of stealing a woman's necklace at Costco parking lot on Monday afternoon.

Officers said a victim was approached by a female who got out of a black SUV in the parking lot of Costco on the 1300 block of North Davis Road.

Police said that the female suspect spoke with the woman and placed jewelry on the victim while simultaneously removing the victim's necklace.

Investigators said another woman got out of the SUV and reached inside the vehicle and placed rings on the victim's hands to distract her.

Officers said that the woman did not realize her gold necklace had been removed from her neck during the interaction.

Police said the victim did not realize her necklace had been removed during the interaction and by the time she realized it, the suspects were gone.
