King City man arrested on sexual assault and kidnapping charges, deputies looking for potential additional victims involved

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- On Monday afternoon, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office have arrested a King City man who allegedly sexually assaulted one of his co-workers.

On Jan. 22, deputies contacted a victim who said that 43-year-old Christopher Rios attacked them. Investigators said the victim was sexually assaulted and multiple physical injuries.

The Sheriff's Office said that they determined that they had probable cause to arrest Rios.

Detectives were able to arrest Rios at his residence on Pine Canyon Road. Deputies said that Rios was on parole and on probation.

Rios was booked into the Monterey County Jail on multiple charges including kidnapping, rape, sodomy, false imprisonment and oral copulation.

Investigators said that Rios has an extensive criminal history and was being investigated for similar crimes he allegedly committed with other victims.

Deputies believe that there may be more victims that have not come forward to report their attacks. If you have information regarding this case, you are asked to contact the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.
