San Benito County downgrades orders to warnings, evacuations orders still in effect Monterey County

CHP Santa Cruz

UPDATE, Saturday, 8:26 p.m., --San Benito County downgraded it's evacuation orders to warnings Saturday night. That for areas from San Felipe Road to Highway 156 to the county line.

It also includes Lovers Lane, Lake Road, and Dunnville Estates and portions of Shore Road from San Felipe Road to Frazier Lake Road.

County leaders are urging people however, for those who live near a river or creek, to be on alert for possible flooding over the next 24 hours.

CENTRAL COAST, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Emergency evacuations are underway as some Central Coast counties are concerned about rising water levels.

This excludes Santa Cruz County whose orders were reduced to warnings as of 4:52 p.m.

Initially, deputies were going door-to-door in low-lying areas of places like the Soquel Village, Felton Grove, Rio Del Mar and some Pajaro and Watsonville neighborhoods.

Those areas are now safe to return back to, but with warnings in place.

In San Benito County, Lovers Lane is under evacuation orders once again, along with parts of the Dunneville Estates and San Felipe Road from the 156 to the County Line.

In Monterey County: New orders are in place for homes along the Carmel River from near the lagoon in Carmel-by-the-Sea all the way into Carmel Valley along Rancho San Carlos Rd and Carmel Valley Rd to Klondike Canyon Rd.

An order means you must leave the area immediately while a warning says you should be prepared in case you are ordered to do so.

Felton Grove is near the river, running along Graham Hill Rd from Covered Bridge Ln to the Felton Bible Church.
