28-year-old woman pleads not guilty to murder charges in 2021 Hollister shooting, court says
HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION)-UPDATE ON DEC. 19 AT 12:36 PM- A 28-year-old woman who was arrested in connection to a 2021 deadly Hollister shooting pleaded not guilty to murder charges.
Rebecca Nunez pleaded not guilty to murder charges in a San Benito County Courtroom on Monday afternoon.
Nunez was arrested on December 14 in Modesto after the San Benito County Sheriff's Office served a warrant at a home on the 100 block of Orangeburg Avenue.
Deputies said that a weapon was found and other evidence which led to the arrest of Nunez.
Deputies said Nunez is accused of helping Alfredo Antonio Arrendondo shoot and kill Aldolfo "Junior" Davila back in April 2021 on McCloskey Road near Hollister.
Investigators say that Arrendando is still on the run and the FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for info that could lead to his arrest.
Nunez will be back in court on January 25. She is being held in San Benito County Jail on a $2 million bond.
Woman arrested in connection to murder of Hollister man in 2021, second suspect still on the loose
The San Benito County Sheriff's Office said they arrested a 28-year-old woman in Modesto in connection to the shooting death of a Hollister man in April 2021.
Rebecca Nunez is being charged for accessory to murder and murder charges, but a second suspect is still on the loose.
The San Benito County Sheriff's Office said they served a warrant at a home in Modesto at the 100 block of Orangeburg Avenue.
Deputies said a weapon was found and other evidence which led to the arrest of Nunez.
Nunez is accused of helping a second suspect shoot and kill Adolfo "Junior" Davila back in April 2021 on McCloskey Road near Hollister.
The second suspect, previously identified as Alfredo Antonio Arredondo still hasn't been found and the FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Arredondo is described as 5'4" and about 145 to 150 pounds and having black hair.
The FBI previously said Arredondo may have escaped to Merced or Modesto but may have fled to Mexico.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Arredondo is asked to contact the San Benito County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators search for suspect in Hollister murder
The San Benito County Sheriff's Office said it has had a break in the case of the murder of Adolfo "Junior" Davila, and the agency is now looking for the suspect in the murder.
Investigators say 29-year-old Alfredo Arredondo has a warrant for his arrest. He is facing murder and conspiracy to commit murder charges in connection to Davila's death.
The Sheriff's Office said it is also looking for information about a female who was with Arredondo on April 4 and 5. They said she will also be charged for her alleged participation in the murder.
On April 5 at about 12:20 a.m., the Sheriff's Office said Davila was getting out of the passenger side of a black Honda Civic on McCloskey Road when he was shot multiple times. He was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.
