Deadly crash in Gilroy Wednesday night

GILROY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The CHP Hollister-Gilroy officers announced Thursday that there was a deadly crash on Wednesday evening in Gilroy involving a 29-year-old pregnant woman.

On New Year's Day around 6:37 p.m. the CHP received a call about a crash on Leavesley Road, east of New Avenue.

Officers say that when they got on scene, they found three vehicles had gotten in a crash, resulting in one death.

"Preliminary investigations reveal that Mr. Temores, a 50-year-old, was driving a 2008 GMC truck traveling eastbound on Leavesley Road at a high speed," said CHP. "At the same time, Mr. Gonzalez Mora was driving a 2021 Chevrolet SUV in the westbound lane, with Mr. Tobar, age 34, following behind in a 2020 Honda sedan."

According to the CHP, the GMC truck veered from the eastbound lane into the westbound lane right into the path of the Chevy SUV, which made the cars slam head-on.

They said that the GMC truck continued driving, which ended up colliding with the Honda and killing the passenger of that car.

CHP says that Mr. Temores was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

They are asking for anyone with more information or dash camera footage related to the crash to contact Officer M. Bueno or Officer A. Uribe at the CHP Hollister-Gilroy Area Office at 408.427.0700.
