Chop shop dismantled in Salinas Thursday afternoon; the CHP

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- An illegal chop shop was discovered Thursday afternoon in Salinas that contained stolen vehicles, according to the CHP Monterey.

Police say that the chop shop dismantled the stolen vehicles and used the parts to either sell or repurpose for other stolen vehicles.

The CHP Coastal Division's Investigative Services Unit (ISU), S.C.A.R.E. Task Force and the Salinas Police Department collaborated to discover the chop shop.

They said that during the operation, officers recovered a stolen vehicle with numerous chopped stolen parts.
